Xiamen Will Build Three Wind Power Stations

Xiamen plans to set up three wind power stations which are expected to bring a total power capacity of 149,000kw to the city.

According to Xiamen Municipal Meteorological Department, which is currently planning the wind power plant areas, the three power stations will be Xiamen Neicuo Wind Power Plant with a total capacity of 9000kw, Xiang'an Lianhe Wind Power Plant with a total capacity of 40,000kw and an on-the-sea wind power plant at Dadeng Island that will have a capacity of 100,000kw.

Xiamen has great wind power potential with reported valid wind speeds of up to 2800 hours each year. At present, the city is also building a wind energy inspection network and setting up a batch of wind power automatic observation stations.
