News from the website of the Ministry of Environmental Protection is that MEP has passed, in principle, the MEP Work Rule (Draft) at an internal ministerial meeting.

Zhou Sheng Xian, minister of MEP, hosted the meeting and he emphasized that the new work rule should be strictly carried out in order to create a new outlook for the nation's environmental protection work.

Consisting of 13 chapters and 59 clauses, the new work rule further defines the guidelines and duties of MEP, regulates its internal work procedures and strengthens its approval rights on meetings and major events. In addition, it sets clear rules on the regulations of each department of MEP, the release of political affairs and the construction of a clean and honest administration. It still needs to go through a few rounds of revisions and should be released this year.
