Don't Flush! Toilet Company Establishes Water Fund In China

08 July 2008 by GreenChinaTech.com Editor | Print Print | Email Email

To promote development of water saving and water environmental protection, toilet-maker Toto (China) Co., Ltd has set up Toto Water Environment Special Fund together with China Environmental Protection Foundation in Beijing.

Toto China is reportedly to invest CNY5 million for daily operation and projects of the special fund.

Officials and experts from Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Water Resources, National Development and Reform Commission, China Quality Certification Centre and China Building Ceramics & Sanitaryware Association attended the opening ceremony held in the Beijing International Club.

The aim of the special fund is to show the public the importance of limited water resources to environmental protection and the survival of mankind on the planet. In the next five years, Toto water environment special fund will regularly launch a series of activities including water saving knowledge promotions, water saving products and technologies promotion and water environment protection posters contest.

Toto China says has been devoting itself to the research and development of water saving technologies for many years. It attaches great importance to environmental protection and water saving, introducing its operating model of the Toto Water Environment Fund from Japan to China, which indicates great achievement for both the China Environmental Protection Foundation and Toto China in water saving activities.

Unfortunately the axiom of "If it's yellow let it mellow; if it's brown flush it down" apparently is not part of the company's eco-friendly initiatives.
