PetroChina Signs LNG Supply Deal With Shell

PetroChina International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the China National Petroleum Corporation, has signed a liquid natural gas supply deal with Shell.

According to the 20-year agreement, Shell will supply two million tonnes of LNG each year to PetroChina and the gas will be tapped from the Gorgon gas project in western Australia.

Shell is said to own 25% of the equity in the Gorgon gas project, which is still in the initial stages of development.

PetroChina International is a holding company of CNPC's listed company PetroChina. It mainly focuses on CNPC's international trade business.
