According to a representative from the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission of China, China's National Energy Administration is formulating an plan to revitalize the country's new energy industry and speed up its development.

Wu Zhonghu, a researcher from ERI, has disclosed to the Chinese media that unlike the 11th Five-year Plan, the new plan is a middle and long term one instead of an interim one and it will focus on pushing forward the development of the new energy industry: particularly wind power. It is said that from this year on China will spend 10 years building up a dozen wind power bases with over 10 million KW in capacity in provinces like Gansu, Inner Mongolia, Hebei and Jiangsu.

In addition, the new plan will also cover the development and use of nuclear energy.
