19 November 2009 by GreenChinaTech.com Editor | Print Print | Email Email

Tsinghua University, the University of Cambridge, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have joined forces to form the Low Carbon Energy University Alliance.

The three universities, which are widely recognized as pioneers in the fields of global energy consumption and carbon emission technology, hope to develop new technology and policy options for the global low carbon economy through this alliance.

It is learned that the three-party alliance has already agreed on six cooperation programs for energy conservation and emission control.

At present, energy consumption and carbon emissions from the United States, China, and the European Union accounts for more 50% of the world's total output.
