Hong Kong Energy Invests In China's Wind Power Projects

11 September 2008 by GreenChinaTech.com Editor

Hong Kong Energy is to invest in the second phase of a 200megawatt wind power project in Changma, Gansu Province in partnership with the China Energy Conservation Investment Corporation.

HKE and CECIC will initially contribute 30% and 70% of the registered capital of the Phase II Project respectively, and HKE will have the option of acquiring an additional 10% stake subject to it satisfying certain conditions.

CECIC is the only national level SOE involved in energy conservation and environmental protection. CECIC was created by China's State Council, and has assets of approximately CNY24 billion. The company has successfully completed a number of wind power projects in China, and is responsible for the development of a model wind farm north of Beijing in Hebei province around Danjinghe.

This project will use 134 sets of 1,500KW wind turbines with an aggregate generating capacity of approximately 200MW.
